Throughout the years, I have worked with
various mediums including acrylic painting, quilting and photography,
but began
working with gourds in the summer of 2005. My interest quickly developed into a
passion. I was intrigued by the diverse nature of gourds, as well as their
functionality and beauty.
I use a combination of wood burning, carving, metal and bead
inlay, and painting techniques in a myriad of colors and designs to bring out
the natural beauty in each art piece.
I currently reside in San Diego, and my most recent creations
reflect my surroundings — a wide array of sea life and regional plants.
Although my art is eclectic, I draw all of my inspiration from nature in one
form or another.
I hope that my art will encourage others to see gourds in a
whole new light, just as I have. Here are a few samplings of my works of art,
and invite you to visit my web site
